The Mental Health First Aid courses are designed to arm participants with the skills and knowledge required to deal with key mental health issues in the workplace, aiming to:. As part of our ongoing work with Sport England we are committed to supporting them in their key objective to promote mental wellbeing, and this is just one of the steps we are taking to embed this into our culture to support our employees, and the athletes that train at the centres.
There should never be a stigma around mental health, and our aim is to make talking about it as natural as discussing any common physical health issue. By providing Mental Health First Aid training and advocating for others to do the same, they are now underlining their commitment to supporting mental health as well. The training we deliver empowers individuals not only to support their own mental health but also to recognise signs and symptoms of mental ill health in others and guide them to further support, be that self-help or professional services.
Mental wellbeing is a key area of work for Sport England and we are proud that our centres are leading the way in giving people the tools to keep themselves and their colleagues healthy. Improve your fitness and have fun with our new O2 Touch Rugby sessions!

As such, scaffolding will be in place around these areas until the end of January and the front entrance to the main house will not be in use. Access to the main house will temporarily be through the side entrance or via the rear of the dining room. We apologise for any inconvenience caused during this time. On 12th December we hosted an event to welcome home and celebrate the Rio Olympic and Paralympic medal winners and athletes who train and are based at Lilleshall.
In total, four Olympic and Paralympic sports and 11 Olympic medallists who won a total of 13 medals at Rio are involved at Lilleshall including the history making British Gymnastics and Paralympic Archers.
Year 6 children from Lilleshall Primary School also attended the event and enjoyed meeting the athletes. The centre also installed a podium to replicate the environment that the trampolinists would be competing in at Rio.
The Centre is now looking forward to do the same in preparation for the Tokyo Olympics. Working in partnership with UK Sport, the National Governing Bodies, Serco, and thanks to National Lottery funding it ensured that our teams had the best possible chance of success.
I would also like to pay tribute to the wider Lilleshall community for their continued support. Lilleshall is a facility which is the envy of the sporting world, and together we have much to be proud of. Working in partnership, we hope to encourage many more community users to access the wonderful facilities at Lilleshall whilst at the same time increasing numbers to our town.
Developments across the site have been enormous, providing world-class training facilities, but also in the office and leisure facilities and it is fantastic to hear that investment will continue in the Centre. We look forward to working with the athletes, Sport England, UK Sport and the EIS to continue to improve the facilities and services provided, to support all our athletes toward further and future success.

The new centre is packed with gymnastics equipment, which includes a competition sprung floor area for elite gymnasts, three more gymnastics floors, a carbon-fibre tumble track, and variety of trampettes, springboards and air-filled rebound equipment.
